Good Morning!!! And may you all have a safe and blessed Easter Weekend! It is a beautiful this morning here in the Clear Lake/Galveston Bay Area. I am sitting in my home office in Seabrook looking at God’s beauty. This weekend should be beautiful with Easter services throughout the area. Check out any of the churches for their extra Easter sunrise service times. If you would like to celebrate in Kemah, they are having a service at 7:30 a.m. Go to http://www.kemahboardwalk.com/ for more information.
Some news for the area from the Bay Area Citizen! A bill has been introduced into Congress to have one of the retired space shuttles housed here at Johnson Space Center. Please write to your congressmen and senators regarding this issue. The obvious “snub” (in my opinion) of this area should be corrected. NASA opened here in the Houston Area, right here at Clear Lake/Galveston Bay, and has been the hub and the central communication to earth for 40+ years for all our astronauts. Many of our astronauts live in our area. How many times have we heard the words “Houston, we have……” as our astronauts explore and utilize space. Those heros lost while exploring space have been friends, family and neighbors of many of our residents. Their children have attended school here. We should not ignore their sacrifice and the sacrifice of their families.
Now, some fun news, CCISD named their Teachers of the Year for 2010-2011. The official article is in the Bay Area Citizen but I already knew one name, my friend and client was one of the well deserving teachers chosen. My congratulations to all the teachers of the year named, but my special congratulations goes out to my friend Melanie Hinman, named from Stewart Elementary. For a complete list of all these well deserving teachers go to http://www.yourhoustonnews.com/bay_area/. You will also find more news for around the area and of course read the entire article regarding NASA.
Go out and make it a great weekend. God bless you all!
